FIPPA compliance at CapU

FIPPA compliance at CapU:

  • Ensures appropriate collection, use, access, disclosure, storage, retention, and disposal of personal information by the university;
  • Manages requests for correction of personal information in the custody or under the control of CapU;
  • Employs reasonable security arrangements for the protection of personal information in the custody or under the control of CapU; and
  • Receives and responds to complaints about possible unauthorized collection, use or disclosure of personal information.

Responsibilities

CapU employees are responsible for understanding FIPPA as it relates to their work. Employee responsibilities are set out in the Privacy and Access to Information Policy. Any questions should be sent to the Privacy Officer at privacy@caplianou.ca.

In order to improve website performance and user experience, the University website uses Google Analytics. All data collected by Google Analytics remains anonymous and non-personally identifiable. This data will never be merged with personal information, nor used for any purpose other than to analyze usage of the website.

The University reserves the right to grant access to our Google Analytics implementation to our contracted third-party consultants for the purpose of streamlining our web analytics processes. Google Analytics may store information outside of Canada where it may not receive the same privacy protection it receives in Canada. Summary reports will be used to improve the usability on our sites and to help support the online needs of visitors.
